The Lower Park
The Lower Park is a real gem of Peterhof one of the most beautiful suburbs of St Petersburg. It was created to surpass Versailles gardens. The lower Park of the Peterhof is situated at the bank of the Baltic sea and is filled in with beautiful palaces statues and more then 150 fountains.
The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is one of the main attractions of Peterhof. The Grand Palace with the Grand Cascade of fountains form the architectural dominant of the park complex. In the XVII-XIX centuries, the Grand Palace was the ceremonial residence of the Russian tsars, where important events were held such as holidays, receptions, balls and masquerades.
Currently, the Grand Palace - a unique historical and art museum, whose collection contains about three and a half thousand exhibits, including paintings and porcelain, fabrics and unique furniture, as well as personal belongings of Russian rulers.
Fountains of the Peterhof
Peterhof's fountains and cascades are striking in their splendor. They were made by the best engineers and sculptors, and most of the fountains have been working properly for almost three hundred years. The most recognizable are The Grand Cascade and Samson Fountain
The Grand Cascade is one of the largest fountain structures in the world - it consists of three waterfall staircases and two grottoes, 75 fountains decorated with 255 bronze sculptures, mascarons and bas-reliefs.
